A surgical facelift is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the nation; however, not everyone is ready for or willing to undergo an operation to restore their features to a more youthful appearance. Our experienced plastic surgeons, Dr. Jerome H. Liu and Dr. Tom S. Liu, offer both surgical and non-surgical facelift at our practice, and they can help to guide your decision during your initial consultation. Some of the considerations that may help you to determine whether surgical or non-surgical facial rejuvenation will be able to best achieve your goals may include:

  • Amount of time off available: Surgery will require approximately one week of downtime in which work and regular duties must be suspended. Non-surgical treatments typically have brief recovery periods.
  • Degree of skin laxity present: Ultherapy® can address minor skin elasticity on the face, neck, and chin; however, only a surgical facelift can help to correct advanced skin laxity.
  • Depth of wrinkles: Facelift surgery can often smooth deeper wrinkles, but this technique will not reduce fine lines or enhance volume in the cheeks or under the eyes.
  • Duration of results: Cosmetic injectables, including BOTOX® Cosmetic, JUVÉDERM®, and Restylane®, offer temporary benefits that last between a few months to a year. Occasional touch-ups can help to extend these effects. For a longer-lasting outcome, facelift surgery can offer years of rejuvenation.

These examples are just a few of the differences between facelift surgery and our unique combination of non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments. To help ensure you receive the safest, most effective, and best possible results, our plastic surgeons administer all injections.
